China's economic success resides in the growth model that has developed with the introduction of reforms initiated by Deng Xiaoping in the late seventies of the last century. In just four decades China has become the second world economy behind the United States, and is going to exceed them in the years to come. There are many factors behind this success, particularly the growth model driven by exports, on the one hand, the opening up of the Chinese economy, especially foreign capital on the other. We recall the components of this model, we present its performance. It is now being replaced by another model, based on domestic demand.(original abstract)
