The objective pursued in this article is to analyze the effects of banking on the economic growth of Congo. To achieve this objective, from the empirical point of view, it uses the error correction model. Our results show that the banking rate has no significant impact on economic growth in Congo in the short and long terms. This result can be explained by the low level of banking. Hence, for banking to be able to boost growth in Congo, the rate of banking must be improved. To do this, it is important to place particular emphasis on the distribution of microcredit, which is of great importance for the integration of disadvantaged populations; to relax the conditions for opening accounts and to open bank branches in rural areas.(original abstract)
